The Middle East’s largest HR event is just around the corner. HR Summit and Expo is expected to welcome over 3000 HR professionals this year. Here’s a few tips to help you make the most out of your event experience.
1- Start Planning your Sessions
We have just finalised the entire schedule for the event. You will have access to over 60 sessions. Planning your schedule is key as seats are limited. Make sure you download our app to personalise your schedule and be reminded of the session before it starts. If you prefer something printed, then download this PDF.
2 – Get a Certificate of Attendance
This year, you will be able to obtain a certificate of attendance for the seminar session you attend. To do that, make sure you take note of the session codes that will be announced during each session. On the Monday following the event, you will have access to the website where you can print your certificate. Keep your badge with you as well to remember your URN.
3- Plan for Traffic
The Dubai World Trade Centre is one of the busiest convention centres in the region. We highly recommend that you use public transportation to get there. If you are using the Dubai Metro, stop at the Trade Centre Station and walk towards the convention gate (3 min walk). You can also use taxis, Uber or Careem services. If you prefer to drive, there is a free car park available across the road from the convention gate. There is also a paid covered car park attached the venue. See this map for ease of access.
4- Come with a Plan to Network
This is an unparalleled opportunity for you to not only learn but also to network. Sometimes the best asset at the event is not the speaker but the person sitting next to you. Come with a lot of business cards and don’t be shy to speak to strangers. The Informa Hub will feature a few networking activities as well.
5- Take Time to Visit the Stands
The free quality learning we have on offer could not have been achieved without the support of our sponsors and partners. A lot of them have travelled from all four corners of the globe to showcase the latest they have in HR innovation. Visit the stands, get to know them and who knows maybe you will walk away with a gift. See full list of exhibitors here and some of the new products they plan to showcase.
6- Remember to Take a Break
At events like these, you will spend a lot of time learning and networking and this could be draining. This year we feature one meditation session with Soulcoach, Kyra van den Berg every day to help you de-stress and recharge. Also, remember to drink water and maybe choose healthy snacks over candy bars.
7- #HRChitChat at Informa Hub
Aside from the presentations we have at the seminars, we have also asked a number of our speakers and partner to make themselves available for any questions you have about anything. The schedule will be posted daily on the app. Come to the Informa Hub for a casual chat with them on topics like Employer Branding, Interview Techniques, HR Analytics and more.
8- Download the App
Everything you need to know about the event in terms of schedule, sessions, speakers, sponsor and exhibitors is included in an easy-to-use mobile app. Search for “HR Summit & Expo” in the App Store or Google Play Store.
HR Summit and Expo is from Monday 16 until Wednesday 17 November 2015 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Online registration is available until Sunday 15 November. You can also register onsite for free.
See you there.
