Sharjah Removes Age Limit For Employment in Government

Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah has removed requirement for employment in the government sector, reported local newspaper Al Khaleej Time

The Sharjah Ruler made the announcement using the ‘Direct Line’ programme which is broadcast on radio on TV and radio on Monday said the newspaper.

The UAE Social Security Fund Law states allows those above the age of 18 and below the age of 60 to be employed in the government sector. There will no other age limit implemented.

Additionally, 45 people of determination will be hired in departments and institutions of the emirate’s government.

The newspaper reported that the directive will be implemented in cooperation with Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, Sharjah Department of Human Resources and the University of Sharjah as the 45 young men and women hold bachelor, high school and below secondary degrees.

The UAE has been undertaking Emiratisation measures to ensure that the citizens are employed in different sectors of the country.
