Event Lab Middle East, an award-winning staffing and recruitment solutions provider in the Middle East for large-scale events, says that employment trends in the events and entertainment industry within Saudi Arabia are promising.

The company has recently completed the first Event Essentials workshops in Saudi, in collaboration with MDLBEAST to help build careers in the industry and empower the local workforce while connecting them to the best opportunities in the Kingdom.

“The job outlook for event planners, coordinators, technicians, and hospitality staff is positive, as the industry seeks to expand and host more events and entertainment activities. Additionally, the recent developments in mega projects, theme parks, festivals, and cultural events have created a surge in opportunities for job seekers in the events industry,” said Nadim Jamal, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Event Lab.

Saudi Arabia has become an essential market to the events, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions), and entertainment industry on a global level.

Jamal said that the government’s support and investments in the entertainment sector have provided so many opportunities to contribute to the flourishing landscape of events and entertainment in KSA.

“As the industry continues to grow, so does the need for talented, experienced individuals who can bring creativity, innovation, and exceptional guest experiences to life. Whether it’s managing large-scale festivals, organizing corporate events, or delivering world-class entertainment shows, the demand for skilled event professionals is without a doubt on the rise,” added Jamal.

The Event Essentials workshops that have been running aim to improve the existing pool of freelancers in year one. In year two, the program will evolve into vocational workshops to attract new talent from the wider kingdom, the company said.

In addition to understanding the landscape and bigger picture of the event industry, participants gained an in-depth review of Health and Safety – conducted by Safe Events, incident management, and practical skills, including radio etiquette and protocols.

“We’ve been operating in KSA since 2016 and we have a rapidly growing team of very talented professionals who are very much replicating our ethos, company culture and level of quality that defines our company. We anticipate that this team will triple in the coming 12 months to meet the massive demands of the Kingdom and allow us to continue to deliver the quality of service expected from us,” added Jamal.

The Event Essentials workshops provide a continuous pipeline of freelancers to enter the program, create a community-engagement outreach program to source new talent, build awareness, promote best practices, and collaborate with suppliers to join the teaching ecosystem.

The company said that the freelancers who completed the workshops also had the opportunity to work at future events managed by them.
